TOEFL

The Test Of English as a Foreign Language is a test designed to measure the abilities of non-English speakers to understand language express themselves in oral and demonstrate a level of knowledge.

More than 6,000 universities and colleges in over 110 countries accept foreign students if they have a sufficient TOEFL score (500 points).
The TOEFL is also recognized in professional circles as proof of English proficiency.

This examination consists of 4 types of tests: Listening, Structure, Reading, and Writing.
This test is available in two formats: paper or computer-based and takes about 4 hours.
The price of this exam is about 150 Euros.
TOEFL test scores are valid as long as the English proficiency remains the same. Usually after two years, language skills have evolved. For this reason, a student should retake the TOEFL test every 2 years to get an accurate picture of the level of language and to update their resume.

TOEIC

The Test Of English for International Communication evaluates the ability to master the English language in the business area.
This is the test of a worldwide English test reference: 6 million TOEIC tests were administered in 2010.

More than 2000 companies and large international groups in various industrial sectors in Europe refer to the results of the TOEIC to evaluate the English proficiency of prospective employees. Nowadays, it is more common to find a result of the TOEIC in a CV that mentions "reading, writing and speaking".

The TOEIC is a Multiple Choice Questionnaire of about 200 questions (Listening and Reading) on various topics. The test takes about 2h30.
The diploma has a term of two years.

BULATS

The Business Language Testing Service is a test for fast and effective language evaluation developed by the University of Cambridge and 3 famous language institutes: the Alliance Française, the Goethe Institute, and the University of Salamanca. It’s a tool conceived to allow schools, companies, or private individuals to assess the level of a foreign language in the working area.

The BULATS addresses 4 types of public: individual applicants (adults mainly), companies and educational bodies as well as training centers.

The examination consists of a written test (Reading and Language knowledge) and an oral test (Listening). The result is expressed in the form of a global note on a scale from 0 to 100.

CAMBRIDGE EXAMINATIONS

Cambridge exams assess four language skills: reading writing and oral as well as grammar and practice of English.

FCE First Certificate or en français aimed at students of intermediate level.
The CAE Certificate in Advanced or Français aimed at students of intermediate level.
The CPE or Certificate in Proficiency en français for students of advanced level language.

There are three sessions in a year for these exams in March, June, and December. It consists of five races including three written, one oral, and maintenance of approximately 15 minutes.
