Summer Homestay Immersion in the USA 2025 : Description
Live in an American family in the USA! The Nacel American homestay program offers teenagers opportunities to experience the everyday life of a host family in the USA. This USA immersion program proudly represents the foundation of all Nacel language programs, offering the chance for a young person from abroad to improve his/her level of English by living with a US host family. Language improvement comes from constant immersion in an American family. The friendship that results from living as a member of an American family encourages continued international communication and understanding.
What should I expect from my Summer Homestay in the USA?
Homestay programs are those in which the student only lives with the host family, so it is understood that there are no activities, visits or excursions programmed by the agency. The objective is that the student becomes a member of the American family and acquires sufficient maturity to assume the cultural, environmental, gastronomic and customs changes, to respect the rules and the way of life of his family and to share with them all the moments of the stay. It is a cultural immersion program to increase the level of English.
The Nacel families of this type of program, aware that the level of English and the autonomy of our young participants are more limited, offer them a particularly warm welcome so that they can adapt quickly. Naturally, participants must be mature enough to be able to move away from their parents during this time.

Summer Homestay Immersion in the USA 2025 : Testimonials
Good morning to the Nacel team! I would like to share with you a little story, mine, which Nacel has played an important role. During the summer 1981, I was 16 years old and I took part in a trip to the USA organised by Nacel. During a month I stayed with an American family from Colorado and even went back the following year. This short time spent abroad linked me to the American culture which had a strong influence on me and the rest of my life. After the “Bac”, I enter the French-American school in Paris. Two years later, I was admitted at the Hartford College. During these studies, I met the one who became my wife. Today, we have two teenagers. I’ve got 45 years old and 80% of my life is the consequence of this simple language travel which, on the moment, bored me. Thank you for your job. Sincerely.
I stayed with Nacel in Houston, Texas, in 1985, 32 years ago! You celebrate your 60 years, I take this opportunity to send you a photo of me and my host family from Texas, taken in July 1985. I stayed for a month in their home as an exchange student. I have unforgettable memories. I went back to see them several times after and I'm still in touch with them! We send greetings to Christmas and exchange by e-mail. I was 17, my host family had 3 children: a 23 year old boy, who has since had a daughter who came to visit us several years ago in France. And two girls of 18 and 22 years.
At the end of my 11th grade, in 1986, at my request, my parents registered me for the program "homestay immersion" in the USA. My first time outside my family circle and abroad! I found myself in Kentucky in Louisville in a charming and caring family and with 2 girls my age (Janet 17 and Michelle 19). Immediately we became friends and I was a member of the family! I was out of all the outings and I met all their high school friends. Despite the difficulties of languages encountered at the beginning, this stay was very rich in cultural, human and linguistic experiences. This first contact with the United States allowed me to make very nice meetings and to continue to go to the USA for 4 years in succession and even to make my internships in a company there. This reinforced my taste for learning the English language and a certain openness to the outside world. 30 years later and thanks to emails and Facebook now, I have kept in touch with this family and some friends! Thanks to Nacel for making me live this very beautiful experience. In the summer of 2018, I would like to bring this experience to my 16 year old daughter ...”
I think it's the greatest country I've ever seen in my life!
