What will my host family be like?
During your Homestay and School immersion in Spain, you will be placed in host families on a full board basis. This means that your accommodation and all meals are included in the program.
Hosts range from traditional families with two parents and children, to single-parent families. Some are school teachers who welcome language students during their holidays, while others are retired and enjoy sharing their language and culture on an occasional basis. Each host brings their perspective and passion to creating a welcoming and enriching experience.
Our goal is to provide a supportive and memorable environment tailored to each student’s needs, with hosts who are excited to share their daily life and culture.
Host families can come in a variety of forms to suit different lifestyles and preferences, and we strive to make thoughtful matches for each student. Your host might be paired with another student nearby or even in the same household, potentially from a different country, which adds a unique cultural exchange aspect.
Students are required to be open-minded, as they can be placed anywhere in Spain and must accept the placement that is offered. Spanish host families are welcoming and interested in getting to know a lot about you and your culture. This is an excellent bi-cultural immersion experience where you can learn about Spanish culture while also representing your country and customs during your short stay.
