We offer short and long-term German immersion experiences for Australian students. Individual Australian students and even Australian schools with their German teachers fly to Germany during their summer vacations to spend a few weeks in a German host family and host school for a deep German cultural exploration. This program is a real cultural exchange. You are really immersed in the everyday life of a German teen, going to school with your siblings, participating in extracurricular activities, and spending time with the host family members. You not only boost your German language skills: you develop greater cultural understanding and intercultural skills as well! Start your cultural exchange in Germany this coming summer!

Fly from Australia (Sydney, Canberra, or Melbourne, for example) to Germany and start your adventure! 
Your German host family welcomes you into their home as a new member of their family, introduces you to their lifestyle, shares German meal habits, and gives you an authentic German teenage experience. You go to school on weekdays at the local Gymnasium with your German host sister or brother, and practice German with your classmates! 

Let's experience the fascinating Christmas traditions in Germany! You visit Christmas markets and prepare the house for Christmas! You bake and taste delicious Christmas cakes with your host family, and also celebrate the New Year together!

As a cultural exchange student in Germany, participate in your German host family life: prepare for school, go to school with your siblings, do extracurricular activities, and your homework on afternoons, share Abendbrot for dinner, play games or watch German TV together in the evenings! On weekends you will join your host family for sports, arts, visits, excursions and/or nice moments with your German host family. 

Note: some host families may go skiing or visit relatives during the Christmas holidays! You will join as well!

Welcome to Germany! Your German host family is interested in a cultural exchange with you. They will share their home, their family, their meals, their activities, and many more with you and expect a lot of interactions with you to learn more about you and your culture as well!  They provide you with support, care, and friendship during the whole experience. <Let's build a strong relationship with your German host family!

German Homestay Immersion for Australian students

  • 4 weeks : November 22nd 2024 to December 21st 2024
  • 6 weeks is an option as well: December 7th 2024 to January 19th 2025
  • 8 weeks : November 22nd 2024 to January 19th 2025

Arrival /Departure: Frankfurt International airport (arrival on early morning up to noon; departure from mid afternoon)

When you book a homestay immersion program, while you do not have the option to choose the host family, we strive to match you with the best possible one who is interested in welcoming you into their home for a cultural exchange.
