What is CSIET?

The Council on Standards for International Educational Travel(CSIET) is a not-for-profit organization established in 1984, dedicated to promoting quality international educational travel and exchange for high school students. CSIET's mission is to ensure thesafety and value of international exchange experiencesby setting standards, monitoring compliance, and disseminating information. The organization maintains an annual Advisory List of programs that meet its rigorous standards, serving as a resource for students, parents, schools, and exchange organizations.

Nacel Open Door, member of CSIET

​Nacel Open Door, Inc. (NOD) is a nonprofit student exchange organization committed to fostering international understanding and language education. Founded in 1997 through the merger of Nacel Cultural Exchanges and Open Door Student Exchange, NOD offers a variety of programs, including academic year exchanges, private school placements, short-term cultural immersions, and virtual learning opportunities.

These programs provide students with the chance to live with host families, attend local schools, and experience different cultures firsthand.

As a member of CSIET, Nacel Open Door adheres to the council's stringent standards, ensuring the quality and safety of its exchange programs. This affiliation underscores NOD's dedication to providing enriching and reliable international educational experiences for students and host families alike.
