GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Our English school is located in the heart of Manhattan, on the 5th and 6th floors of the 330 Seventh Avenue Building.
Date of creation: 1980
Facilities: 2 multimedia computer laboratories; a self-access study with videos, TV, and tape players; comfortable student lounges, free access to the Internet and e-mail (Japanese/Korean/Chinese available), wireless connexion, facilities for wheelchair users.
Size of the school: medium/big (capacity of 600 students).
Facilities for disabled students: yes (All rooms and facilities are fitted for wheelchair users).

HIGHLIGHTS
Our English school in New York is ideally situated, on the south of Chelsea district. It is just a few minutes away from Times Square, the Broadway theatre district, Greenwich Village and the Empire State Building. With a subway connection on the corner and Penn Station a few blocks away, getting around is no problem. Our English school offers very modern equipment and facilities for each student.

LOCATION

Residences: in Manhattan, at around 25 minutes from the school with the subway, double room; no board; shared bathroom; sheets provided; phone (only for incoming calls) ; TV set/each floor.
The residence has a laundry (charged); a reception area and a 24-hour security-service. Someone will welcome you at your arrival and provide you your keys.
Please note that such residences are very in demand, you should book a room ASAP. If the initially selected residence is not yet available at the moment of your enrolment, another similar residence will be offered. You will be given a full description of it and advised of any eventual extra charge.



ACTIVITIES :


Our English school in New York arranges a full programme of evening and weekend activities (Museum of Natural History; Rollerblade through Central Park; Night clubbing; Bowling…) as well as optional weekend trips to many popular nearby cities, including Washington D.C, Boston, and Niagara Falls.
Students are responsible for any fees related to these optional activities.

Nearest airport: New York City has 3 main airports: JFK International Airport, situated in the suburb of Jamaica in the Queens; the Newark Liberty International, situated at 26 Km. from Manhattan; La Guardia Airport, situated in the suburb of Flushing in the Queers.

Nearest train station: There are 2 main train stations in New York which are the Pennsylvania Station and the Grand Central Terminal.
Taxi: New York is famous for its numerous ‘Yellow Cab’ ($2.50 charged systematically + $0.40 /minute; an additional $0.50 is charged for the night trips).
Subways: New York is the city with the highest number of subway stations (468).

Transfer possibilities: pick-up at your arrival and assistance until your place of living and/or transfer return at the end of your stay; from 8am to 10pm (Cost for each way: 112 EUR from JFK or La Guardia airports).
