DESCRIPTION :

These paid jobs are designed for students interested in improving their Spanish language skills and working in hotels and restaurants in Spain.
It's a summer job in Spain.

WORK AND STUDY OPTION: The program consists of a Spanish Language Course of 4 weeks (80 hours) in a University near Madrid previous to the paid job in the hospitality sector in Spain. 

JOB PLACEMENT:
Participants will be eligible for different paid jobs in hotels and restaurants in Spain, depending on their language skills and levels (in some cases, German and English will be highly valued), studies, experience, aptitude and length of stay. Paid jobs are varied: waiter – waitress, porters, kitchen porters, restaurant staff, animation team for children and adults, day nursery, etc. Receptionist positions are only available for participants with a very good level of Spanish and experience.

WORK CONDITIONS:
The student must work a minimum of 40 to 48 work hours per week and may be expected to work either 5 or 6 days per week. He/she will earn at least the Statutory Minimum Salary established for each job. Participants working in hotels or restaurants which provide accommodation and full board receive a minimum of 600 euros net pocket money per month and depending on hotels and the experience of the student, this amount can reach up to 1300 euros. The timetable and conditions of employment is to be agreed upon at the time of interview between the employer and the employee.

ACCOMMODATION :

4 weeks accommodation in a host family half board or student residence with no board is included in the price for the Work and Study option. Accommodation and board remain the responsibility of the student during the job in Spain. 

LESSONS :

80 hours

ELIGIBILITY :

EU students (except Bulgarian and Romanian students).
No visa required for EU students.
Students from the European Union.

DEADLINE :

At least 3 months before arrival in Spain. Late application may be accepted.

CONDITIONS - PAID JOB IN SPAIN :

Applicants to a paid job in Spain need to have:
- at least an intermediate level of Spanish on arrival
- some previous work experience in the hotel and catering sector.

PRICE INCLUDES :

- Administration fees
- 4 weeks Spanish Language Course (80 hours)
- Accommodation at the University Residence (double room) with no board or in a Homestay (individual room) with half board
- Books and Diploma
- Airport pick-up and transfer on arrival
- Work placement in a hotel or restaurant
- Bus or train ticket to the work placement, only in Spain
- Support, assistance and 24 hours emergency phone number during the whole program

PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE :

- International airfare
- International Travel insurance
- Accommodation and board during the work placement (usually provided by employers, eventually deduced from the wage); accommodation isn’t provided by restaurants in Madrid.
- Extra language courses
- Personal expenses and pocket money
- Medical and Emergency Repatriation Insurance (may be provided by Nacel for an extra cost)
- Application fees (35 euros)
