High School Programs France

DESCRIPTION :

Nacel offers international students to study in a local public high school, living in a host family in the Paris area (about 40 km from Paris city centre). It will allow them to experience the everyday life of French students and discover the French culture and “art de vivre”. Students can also choose to study in a private boarding school in Cholet, Oloron Ste Marie or Rodez (emphasis on technical subjects and electronic): they will integrate the boarding quarters with their school friends during weekdays and will be accommodated by a host family on weekends and during school holidays.

SCHOOL SYSTEM
French secondary education is divided into two schools: the collège for the first four years directly following primary school; the lycée for the next three years. The completion of secondary studies leads to the baccalauréat. The director of the school decides which is the best class and level for the international student, taking into consideration the school organization, the student’s school transcripts and the level in French. The subjects to be studied are the following: Mathematics, French, 1st foreign language (generally English), 2nd foreign language (Spanish or German), Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Arts and Sport.

Paid host family, full board.

ELIGIBILITY :

Students must be interviewed in their home country before being accepted.
A minimum of 2 years of French study and good academic results are required.

DEADLINE :

March 31st for arrival in August, October 31th for arrival in January.
